'Spirit of Finch' – A Messenger of Joy and Transformation

Bathed in the radiant hues of a sunburst sky, Spirit of Finch emerged from my brush as more than just a painting—it’s a symbol, a guide, and a song of the soul.
This celestial finch, painted in rich oils, is a celebration of transformation, lightness of being, and the sacred joy of simply being. Her wings—lavender and sapphire—cut through the veil, stirring something ancient and familiar in the heart. Her fiery chest glows with the courage of the heart-led soul. She is both muse and messenger—a divine whisper from Great Spirit.
The inspiration for Spirit of Finch came from a moment of wonder. I had been reflecting on Darwin’s discovery of the finches of the Galápagos—how these gentle songbirds adapted to their environment with grace and diversity. Each species evolved uniquely, showing nature’s infinite creativity. That adaptability, that vibrancy, stayed with me.
In spiritual symbolism, Finch is seen as a messenger from Great Spirit—delivering joy, hope, and guidance through colour, song, and movement. I wanted this painting to capture that essence—the feeling that something higher is speaking through beauty.
That’s also why I chose the name Finches Creative Design for my studio—it’s not only my family name, but a legacy. We are a long line of creatives: artists, designers, teachers, musicians, actors, writers, singers, chefs, spiritual guides and business minds. The finch, to me, represents the vibrant spirit of creativity that has always flown through our family’s story.
The sunburst background in the painting reflects that higher light—that Finch is not just in flight, but in ascension. She carries a message of the soul’s evolution through joy. She reminds us that lightness of being is sacred. That transformation doesn’t always have to be heavy—it can be colourful, playful, free.
This piece was created for those walking the path of the heart—shamans, teachers, nature lovers, angelic souls, and anyone who hears the call of quiet magic.
