Exploring unicorns and cool wintery skies

I started this painting with a simple experimentation with purple and pink pastels on a white background with absolutely no idea where it was leading. It just felt really fun to play with. But then I felt it would be a perfect backdrop to explore unicorns in. So the second oil painting in the Winter Elemental Series to represent December is 'Winter Unicorn Elf Rider'.

I felt it was important to create a more warrior-like elf for this painting and really enjoyed working with more elaborate clothing for this.
