Another painting hot off the easel!

Happy New Year everyone! I hope that 2019 is exciting and filled with abundance of love and happiness for you.

After a very productive 2018, building up to the launch of Finches Art & Design Shop, I have now added a new painting of one of my favourite places as a child.. 'Hayesden'. It is situated near to the Hayesden lakes that were once the 'shallows' before the flood barrier was built for Tonbridge.

Oast houses are integral to the Kentish countryside, originally installed as buildings in which hops would be dried as part of the brewing process for beer. It is such a beautiful scene on the back roads to Tonbridge - if you drive fast you will miss it.

My favourite time of year here is harvest.

When the lay of land has been carved up with such a wonderful array of ochre and burnt siena hues glistening in the late summer sunshine.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I have had in painting it.
